FAQ's

Yes. Every back and side set is bookmatched for symmetry and visual flow. Side pieces are selected for tonal and aesthetic continuity, not just close in color, but harmonized in figure and character. If a top is included, it’s also chosen to complement the back and sides visually and tonally.

All Vault sets are dried, stabilized, and conditioned in our vacuum and dehumidification kiln. Moisture content is kept at about 6% for long-term stability and tonal reliability. That being said, we always recommend that you dry and acclimate the wood according to your own schedule/protocols.

Our Vault collection is constantly evolving. New pieces are added regularly. Currently, our Vault features:

  • Special Hawaiian koa. These are rare, figured, and sustainably sourced from our Hawaiian forestry partnerships.
  • Figured Maple, including quilted maple. These are striking visual depth, milled from trees sourced in our Skagit Valley forestry regeneration projects.

Yes. Some Vault sets include a top; others feature just back and sides. We clearly note what’s included in each listing.

It is. Our koa comes from managed lands in Hawaii, where we’ve direct forestry partnerships focused on regeneration, biodiversity, and cultural respect. We’ve been working with these forests for decades, replanting as we harvest. This koa isn’t just beautiful; it’s part of a larger story of stewardship.

Each Vault listing includes detailed measurements. Most are large enough to accommodate dreadnoughts, OMs, and other standard body shapes. For jumbo or custom builds, always check dimensions.

Yes, and we take that seriously. We mill our Vault sets from the same billet whenever possible, ensuring that figure, flame, or curl carries across pieces. We also reject sets with visual mismatches, excessive mineral streaks (unless desired), or off-color sides that could compromise the look of a finished instrument.

Because each Vault listing shows the actual set for sale (not a representative image), what you see online is exactly what you’ll receive. We use high-resolution photography in natural lighting to ensure the wood’s true character comes through. We don’t allow in-person selection for Vault sets, but what you see is curated with care.
