Tell us a bit about your life as a luthier:
Music has always been a big part of my life, and I've always enjoyed working with my hands, so building guitars was a natural path for me. What I love most about guitar making is the combination of art, science, and craftsmanship, it’s a field with endless opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow.
Build Description: I was looking for a low density top for fingerstyle guitar. For me the OM 12-fret body with Lutz spruce was the right combination
How would you describe the tone of this instrument?
Clear punchy bass with complex trebles and very lively.
How did you come to know Pacific Rim Tonewoods?
I was introduced to PRT through Dr. David Olson, who performs sonic testing for the company.
One piece of advice for builders starting out?
For builders just starting out, my advice is to begin with a proven, time-tested design and build from there. Developing a solid understanding of established instruments provides a strong foundation before exploring your own ideas and innovations.
