Grading soundboards is one of the most important jobs at the millsite – one that requires experience and a luthier’s eye. First, we hand-select our maple, koa, and spruce logs, as well as salvaged redwood blocks. We then process the wood into boards that are resawn into sets. From there, they go to our grading station, where we use our skills to find the best guitar in every soundboard we sell.
